Oh my days …. We are looking out of the windows gently and not expecting too much …. But by jove - there it is …. The sun has arrived and he’s only got his bloody hat on and it’s dry ……. Yipeeeeeee.
We really planned for today to be another quiet day as we’re getting old (well older) and it’s taking some time to get ourselves together! Obviously we want to be out and about and we have lots of plans … just taking it one day at a time.
Getting here at such a late time on Thursday has ruined us …. But I’m sure we’ll be back up and running in no time…. And it is only Day 3.
Back to todays plans ….. As I mentioned yesterday, there seemed to be something happening in the Municipal Park … and after a bit googling, found out it’s a Craft Fair…. Cue excitement ☺️
The weather was glorious (still had a brolly in my bag just in case 😂) and off we went …..
We walked through the Castle grounds as we wanted to see where the teamLab event was happening …. You’ll get to know about that when we go next week. It seemed everyone was out as it was a Sunday and nice .. so lots of families having picnics and playing games ….
This is not the actual castle ⬇️ … it’s part of the castle grounds. I’ll get some piccies of the castle later.
This is just over the road to the house ….. 2 minute walk if that. The castle is lovely but we haven’t gone back in it as we did that last time…. Anyway - we had crafts to buy!
We got there and it was craft heaven…… stalls for all different kinds of things; wood, metal, paper and a lot of ceramics. I could have bought something from every stall … but my conscience was following me. Didn’t stop me completely tho and I got a bag, a pouch made of washi (paper) and a washi bookmark.
There was also a load of food stalls but we didn’t try anything …. Something I regret a bit now, but I wasn’t hungry 😬.
After a good couple of hours, Scott managed to drag me away and we continued our walk …. We ended up at the 21st Century Museum, but we just walked round it … going to go inside later. There are some weird and wonderful things outside ……
We made our way back home for a little break and a cuppa and planned to go back out later for a nice evening stroll along the riverside. All the bridges are lit up which look very pretty …..
Yes yes … this is all very lovely, but the most exciting part of the night ….. well we found two vending machines that sold complete meals. These vending machines are at the bottom of a street and are sat there on their own …. Not attached to a shop or a restaurant …..
The first picture shows the selection of fish dishes . . The second picture shows a selection of pasta dishes and rice omelette dishes …. There’s also a couple of desserts …. All for the bargain price of ¥1000 (about a fiver).
No - we didn’t try it …. But you never know - on our next moonlight walk, I might just be a bit peckish ….. rice omelette by the river …. Hmmmmmm.
So back home for food (not out of a vending machine) and to relax and plan our day tomorrow. We are going to venture out of Kanazawa and go to Toyama . . . Which involves the Shinkansen (bullet train). Whoo hoooo
Until tomorrow xx
